The 18th annual Tea for Two Hundred event will be held Aug. 8 at a private home in Washington.

The event, which will run from 4 to 7 p.m. at the home of Gael Hammer and Gary Goodwin, will benefit the New Milford VNA Hospice program and the Interfaith AIDS Ministry of Greater Danbury.

Festivities will include a silent auction, a hat contest, hors d'oeuvres, desserts and dancing.

Candace Bushnell, internationally known writer and social commentator and author of the bestselling book “Sex in the City” is this year’s honorary chairwoman. She will sign copies of her new book “Killing Monica.”

She will be joined by special guest Larry Kramer, Emmy Award-winning playwright, who will sign copies of “The American People: Volume 1, Search for My Heart: A Novel.”

Attendees are asked to wear white.

Volunteers are sought to help with the event.

Event promoters, designers, set up and break down crews, crowd organizers and on-site volunteers are sought.
