Turkish rug sale set in Washington

The annual collaborative Turkish rug sale fundraiser will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, from noon to 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church on the Green in Washington.

The event is co-sponsored by the Gunn Historical Museum, the Roxbury Museum & Hodge Memorial Library, and Minor Memorial Library.

Hundreds of rugs and kilims of all sizes will be offered for sale by Hamza Yildiz, of Istanbul, Turkey.

A percentage of the sale will benefit the three organizations.

A $10 donation will be required from noon to 2 p.m., as a Mediterranean lunch and lecture about the history, artists, techniques, dyes, motifs, and types of Turkish rugs and flat weave kilims will be offered.

Admission will be free after 2 p.m.
