Town cleanup on tap in Kent
The road captain format previously used -- doing cleanup with one's neighbors and friends across a whole road or a section of Kent -- will be used again.
Kent's Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops will reprise their tending to the village's main roadways.
Road captains will recruit teams of two to five to clean up specific portions of roads, and will track which areas have been completed as the week progresses.
Captains will receive and distribute gloves and separate trash bags for regular trash and recyclables.
Once filled, participants may leave the bags on the road shoulders and email their captains to have the bags picked up and delivered to
the town's transfer station.
Students from Kent's local private schools will also participate.
A grand finale event, with photos, and refreshments will take place April 27 at noon at the transfer station.
