As Connecticut braces for tropical storm Isaias, which is expected to bring gusts of up to 70 miles per hour and heavy rain to coastal areas when it arrives Tuesday afternoon, according to the the National Weather Service, a tornado watch has been issued for the state.

This tornado watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Tuesday for all of Connecticut.

On Sunday, August 2, the National Weather Service confirmed the touchdown of two EF0 tornados in Northwestern Connecticut. These were the first confirmed tornadoes of 2020 in Connecticut.

Many Connecticut residents will also remember the two tornadoes that touched down in October 2018 that caused damage in parts of Southeastern Connecticut.
