Klemm Real Estate, which has offices throughout Litchfield County, has announced Tim Tierney has joined the firm. Tierney will be based at the Washington office.

Tierney is a member of the Fairfield County and Litchfield County Board of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the Connecticut Association of Realtors.

He has been recognized by Connecticut Magazine as a Five Star Realtor for the last five years for delivering exceptional service to his clients.

A lifelong resident of Roxbury and Washington, he grew up around real estate with his father, Edward, who established Tierney Realty in the early 1960s.

“My dad’s honesty and commitment to clients and the community are legendary over the 40-plus-years he owned the firm,” Tierney said. “He has been a wonderful role model for me.

“He also had his own construction company, which gave me the opportunity to buy, renovate and sell several homes with him,” Tierney said. “It was a thorough and extensive education from which I, and by extension, my clients have benefited.”

“After fulfilling a 20-year career in the United States Merchant Marines, I joined his company in 1998 as a real estate salesman and I received my broker’s license in 2002,” Tierney said.

Tierney has been a member of the Washington Lions Club for the last 16 years.

His hobbies include renovation and interior design with his wife, Christine.

He enjoys reading and learning the extensive history of Washington, Roxbury and the surrounding communities.
