Thomas M. Corbett, 67, of New Fairfield, died Nov. 16 at his home. He was the husband of Margaret "Peggy" (Zanzal) Corbett.

He was born July 19, 1945, in Danbury, the son of the late John J. and Margaret (Moran) Corbett. He was a graduate of Danbury High School, and a member of the first graduating class at Sacred Heart University in 1967, where he received a bachelor's degree in business.

Mr. Corbett was employed for 37 years with the town of New Milford school system as its director of operations, retiring five years ago. Following his retirement, he served as the third selectman for the Town of New Fairfield for two years.

A resident of New Fairfield for 36 years, he was a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church, and was a 26-year volunteer with the American Red Cross as a disaster relief coordinator.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Corbett is survived by two sons, Patrick F. Corbett, of Stamford, and Brendan M. Corbett, of Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Jeanne Corbett, of California, and Susan Jones, of West Haven; a brother-in-law, John Zanzal, of New Fairfield; a granddaughter, Sophia Corbett; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, John Corbett.

The Green Funeral Home in Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
