This art show is 'Jazzalicious'
Today, at home in Litchfield, he's celebrated as a master artist and teacher, and is a founding member of the Litchfield Jazz Festival Art Show. He has painted notable jazz figures such as
Federico's "Jazzalicious" exhibit opened Wednesday at the Good News Cafe in Woodbury. A retrospective, it covers 10 years of his commercial, jazz-themed artwork for the Litchfield Jazz Festival, and also features select paintings from his early years in New Orleans, and city-scapes of New York City.
An opening reception is planned for Sunday. It includes an art auction to benefit the Litchfield Jazz Festival, which marked its 10th anniversary earlier this month. A Federico original painting will be featured as a unique silent auction item.
Federico's colorful jazz images are licensed annually by the Litchfield Jazz Festival for use on promotional items such as T-shirts and posters.
Frank Federico's "Jazzalicious" exhibit runs through Oct. 17. The opening reception, with a live jazz concert and art auction hosted by the Good News Cafe in Woodbury, is Sunday from 3-5 p.m. The reception is open to the public.
