TheatreWorks New Milford will open its production of “Zombie Prom,” a musical by John Dempsey and Dana P. Rowe, July 14 at 8 p.m.

Following opening night, the play will be staged Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. through Aug. 5, as well as July 30 at 2 p.m.

Set in the halls of Enrico Fermi High School during the nuclear 1950s, the show tells the tale of a teenage boy who is brought back to life by the love of his high-school sweetheart.

The production can be described as “Grease” meets “Bye Bye Birdie” meets “The Rocky Horror Show” meets “Little Shop of Horrors.”

This production is under the direction of Matt Austin of New Milford with musical direction by Anna DeMasi and choreography by Jenny Schuck.

The show features Tommy Ovitt, Lexi Tobin, Jody Bayer, Stephen Dirocco, Sydney Coelho, Dana Wilton, Erin Shaunessey, Karl Hinger, Dominick Ventrella and Richard Frey.

Tickets are $28 for reserved seating. Students and military personnel with ID will be admitted for $23.

Seniors are invited to a free dress rehearsal July 13 at 8 p.m. A pay-what-you-can night will be held July 20 at 8 p.m.

The theater is located at 5 Brookside Ave., but parking is behind the Catherine E. Lillis Administration Building at 50 East St.
