Theater to stage ‘A Christmas Story’
The Sherman Playhouse will open its production of “A Christmas Story,” adapted for the stage by Philip Grecian, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m.
Following opening night, the show will be staged Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., as well as Dec. 9 and 16 at 2 p.m., through Dec. 22.
“I am so excited about all the talent that came out to audition for this amazing classic,” said Keli Solomon, director. “Lots of fans of the movie were exhilarated to be a part of this holiday gem.”
“we were very pleased to have new faces from towns farther from our little community, like Bridgewater and Roxbury,” said Lynn Nissenbaum of New Milford, producer.
The cast includes Vicky and Dylan Sosbe, Colin James, George Evan Lorenz and Bella Mullen of New Milford, Elias Osborne and Danielle Frick of Sherman, Dennis Walsh of Woodbury, Judy Sullivan of Bridgewater, and Frank Mariano of Roxbury.
Dean Alexander of New Fairfield will portray the older Ralphie who narrates the play.
In addition to Solomon and Nissenbaum, the crew of this production includes Al Chiappetta of Gaylordsville as lighting designer, Terry Hawley of New Preston as costume designer, Trish Haldin of New Milford as production photographer and David White of Sherman as sound designer.
Tickets are $24 for adults. Children’s tickets are $12.
