When it comes to extreme winter sports, New Milford style, nothing beats the Rail Jam 2K11.

Good friends Brad Mannion and Karl Lindberg hosted their third annual Rail Jam competition Jan. 30 at the Lindberg home.

Among the highights this year was a 10-foot wide and seven-foot high quarter pipe.

For a third straight winter season, passionate snowboarders Karl and Brad took a break from their own activities to host other high school friends at a winter playland featuring numerous jumps and rails.

Each of the competitors launched from an eight-foot tower.

The tournament directors served a judges for five preliminary rounds and the finals.

Cole Case was judged the champion based his performances in a scoring system including style, varying tricks and skill.

Nick Jimenez and Jason Rogowski were Cole's closest rivals.

By day's end, the competitors and their hosts had enjoyed day of sunshine, music, a hot fire, prizes and food.
