A winter of heavy snows left towering piles of the white stuff around the Greater New Milford area that had to go somewhere, sometime...

Unfortunately for residents, especially those living near the Housatonic River and the many smaller rivers in our area, much of that snow mixed with several inches of the rain early in the week to cause major flooding.

At the Spectrum's press time on Wednesday, folks in New Milford and Kent, particularly, and to a lesser extent Washington, Roxbury, Bridgewater, Sherman and Warren, were dealing with flood damage, roads badly in need of repair and a multitude of other issues dealt us by Mother Nature.
