To the Editor:

On behalf of the Community Culinary School of Northwestern Connecticut, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the many individuals, businesses and organizations that made our seventh annual "Dinner with Friends" fundraiser such a tremendous success.

The support of the community, so important to the success of the school, was in full evidence on this special evening.

I would love to be able to acknowledge all of our supporters individually but, with more than 200 auction donors, sponsors and volunteers, plus our many guests, it is impossible to list everyone here.

The support of each and every one of these contributors is so greatly appreciated and the evening would not have been possible without them.

I would like to extend a special thank you to our premier sponsor, Union Savings Bank, which has continued to support our program in so many ways.

A huge thank you also goes out to two amazing women, event co-chairwomen Deb Matta and Lynn Strawson, whose indefatigable efforts made this an evening to remember.

And a most heartfelt thank you to graduate Kim Hynd, whose brave recounting of her remarkable story of obstacles overcome on the road to success inspired our guests to dig deep and give generously to the "Fund the Need" portion of our program.

Thank you again to all of our supporters.

You have helped to change lives and, because of you, we can continue the important work that we do, qualifying our graduates for jobs that earn a living wage in the food service industry and helping to feed the community while doing so.
