Washington's annual holiday event will happen from the driver's seat

The town of Washington will hold a drive-thru version of Holiday in the Depot on Dec. 11 from 6p.m. to 8 p.m.

The event is being held in lieu of the traditional in-person Holiday in the Depot event, normally held in the center of town.

A special mailbox for letters for Santa will be offered at town hall and an opportunity to see Santa will be held.

This year, businesses and residents have been invited to decorate with lights and seasonal displays that will be included in a Tour of Lights, held in conjunction with the Holiday in the Depot.

The Parks and Recreation Department is compiling a list and map of participating businesses and residences. It will be posted on the department’s Facebook page, as well as on the town’s website.
