Teresa Moots, 49, was an attorney
Teresa M. Moots, 49, of New Milford, died Aug. 28 at home. She was the wife of Roland F. Moots Jr.
She was born Sept. 7, 1963, in Danbury, daughter of Richard and Teresa Seeholzer Faure, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
A graduate of Shepaug Valley Regional High School in Washington, she attended Arizona State University and received a bachelor's degree from Western Connecticut State University and a law degree from Western New England School of Law.
She was a self-employed attorney.
She was a member of the Connecticut and Litchfield County Bar associations, and the Governors Horse Guard for the state of Connecticut.
She loved to ride her horse, Briarwolf, and loved country music. She loved being with her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed family vacations in Florida.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her children, Heather Bushey, of Torrington, Richard O'Shaugnessy, of New Milford, and Alexander Moots, of New Milford; her stepchildren, Derek Moots, of Danbury, Lisa Bowe, of New Milford, and Christina Moots, of Washington, and Stephanie Moots and Carter Moots, of New Milford; a sister, Suzanne Koerner, of Roxbury; seven grandchildren; and two nephews, Josh Koerner, of Carmichael, Calif., and Zach Koerner, of Montpelier, Vt. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard A. Faure Jr.
The Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford is in charge of arrangements.
