Tax credit available to homeowners

Applications for property tax credit for elderly or totally disabled homeowners are available in the Roxbury assessor’s office.
To be eligible, a homeowner must meet the following criteria:
The home for which the credit is being sought must be the primary residence of the homeowner. The homeowner must have owned the home on or before Oct. 1, 2017.
The homeowner must have reached the age of 65 by the end of 2017, although totally disabled homeowners are eligible regardless of age.
The income limits are $35,300 for single applicants and $43,000 combined income for married applicants.
Proof of all income for 2017 must be provided.
If an applicant files an income tax return, a copy must be provided.
If an applicant receives Social Security benefits, a copy of the SSA 1099 form must be provided.
