New Milford voters will be able to meet New Milford First candidates and other candidates Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at 321 Long Mountain Road.

The event, hosted by Norman Adler and Michele Shackleford, will bring together New Milford First candidates and others it supports.

The New Milford First candidates are John Kane and Eileen Monaghan for town council; Alexander (Sandy) Petersen for Board of Finance; and Gerard Monaghan for Planning Commission.

Bob Coppola, who is seeking election as mayor on both the Democratic and New Milford First lines, also is expected to attend.

"This is a great chance to meet the candidates in an informal setting," Mr. Adler said, "and learn their views on the issues important to you."

Cider and doughnuts will be provided.

New Milford First was formed in 2005 to offer "an alternative to politics as usual," according to Eileen Monaghan, party vice chairman.

In the 2007 elections, its mayoral candidate came in second.
