A rain date of Sept. 16 is set.

The event is in memory of longtime residents Jim and Fran Bennett and will benefit several organizations, including their grandaughter's college fund, the Jessica Bennett Gardner College Fund.

Mr. Bennett was a well-known mechanic who worked on many classic automobiles in the community, according to event organizers Kerry and Travis Washay.

In addition, he operated Bridge Street Auto in New Milford until his death.

Festivities will include music, food and the awarding of trophies for People's Choice and Best in Class.

Show cars are invited to be on the field, located on School Street, at 9 a.m.

Classes that will be recognized will include American, British, motorcycle and scooter, German, Italian, micro and mini cars, pre-war American, pre-war European, street rod, truck and Volkswagen.

Admission will cost $10 per vehicle, with proceeds to benefit the Washington Volunteer Fire Department, the Washington Ambulance Corp. and the Jessica Bennett Gardner Scholarship Fund.
