Gunn Memorial Library in Washington will offer three poetry sessions with Jesse Steinmetz, recently appointed poet laureate of Washington, in the coming weeks.

Offerings will include an adult poetry workshop for poets of all stages and development Thursday, July 31, at 6:30 p.m.; a tweens and teens poetry workshop geared toward children 10 to 15 for writers of all levels and an open mic night for the general public Aug. 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Participants should bring paper and a pen.

Steinmetz is majoring in poetry and Spanish at Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass. His thesis will consist of writing a book of English translations of Chilean poems.
