States Candlewood Solar will 'be developed to the highest industry standard possible'

To the Editor:

The one thing I can say about Mrs. Ostrove’s recent Letter to the Editor opposing our solar project: She spelled my name correctly. Nearly everything else is either “fake news” or facts twisted just enough to mislead the reader.

I won’t engage her today. Instead, I just want to say again that this is a good project that will not negatively impact any of our neighbors, or for that matter, any citizen of New Milford.

I would venture to say that if this project were located almost anywhere else in New Milford we would not have heard from these people. In fact, considering the unanimous endorsement of solar power by these folks, they might have supported us — if it were located in somebody else’s back yard.

But that’s the point of this location. No one in this neighborhood will see it, which is a primary reason why our site was chosen in the first place.

Furthermore, in 20 years, the panels will be removed, recycled into something else, and the site reclaimed as forest or pasture.

We have assembled an outstanding team of professionals who are doing everything in their power to ensure that the Candlewood Solar project will be developed to the highest industry standard possible.

We appreciate and thank you for your support.
