The New Milford Sports Club has announced it is offering several special monthly events.

Susan Pereira, who was recently hired as events coordinator, said the club will hold six to eight monthly events, along with holistic preventive workshops and fundraising activities.

The club recently held a spin-a-thon and raised $1,700 for the New Milford River Trail.

NMSC has hired a professional outdoor adventure guide to lead outdoor activities while keeping participants safe and knowledgeable during these excursions.

“We have offered multiple kayak trips, foliage hikes, bike trips, zip lining and trapeze lessons, which have all been received well,” said Pereira, who is now planning winter programs.

“NMSC events go well beyond the adventure seeker,” Pereira said. “We offer complimentary tea time, book club, flu shots and blood pressure clinicians and so much more.”

The events are open to people 2 and 80-plus.

The club recently became involved with Silver Sneakers, which gives seniors opportunities to enjoy events.

Pereira noted future programs: a comedy show, a wine and painting party, ballroom dancing, wine tours and more.

Activities are open to members and nonmembers.
