The Friends of Harrybrooke Park in New Milford is seeking sponsors for its April 2 “Evening of Comedy and Magic” fundraiser.

In addition, donors of new goods, services or gift certificates for door prize drawings are sought.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the show at 8:30 p.m, at the recently-renovated historic United Bank building at 19 Main St. in town.

The Friends of Harrybrooke Park is a non-profit group supporting the privately funded park that is open year-round to the public.

The show, featuring the all-star cast of Gemini, Billy Winn and Peaches Rodriguez, is produced by Treehouse Comedy Funny4Funds.

John “Gemini” Lombardi, a comedian, ventriloquist and magician, started performing at 11 and began a career in comedy after being prompted by his peers and professionals.

In the past 25 years, Winn has been seen on almost every major TV network and has performed in Atlantic City and Las Vegas.

Rodriguez has been featured on the “Paula Abdul Dance Show: Live to Dance” and performs at The Tropicana Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, Comic Strip Live in New York City Stand Up New York, among many other clubs.

She was crowned Funniest Comedian in Connecticut.

She has also done three U.S.O. tours of duty.

A cash bar will be offered at the event.

Tickets are $50 per person and include the show and dinner catered by J.P. Gifford of Kent. They may be purchased online at or by calling 860-799-6520. The park is a nonprofit 501c3 charitable organization and has served the public for more than 50 years at no cost to the town of New Milford or its taxpayers.

Fundraising and donations are critical to sustaining the operation of the park and keeping it open for all to enjoy.
