Soccer team raises funds for breast cancer
The New Milford High School boys’ varsity soccer team recently hosted its second annual “Pink Out - Kickin’ for a Cure” fundraiser.
Joined by opponent Kolbe Cathedral and local youth soccer players and their parents, a sea of pink and green filled the stands of the NMHS stadium to support efforts to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer causes.
Soccer Club of New Milford players of all ages joined the varsity players in a parade to the field. Introductions and a live a capella performance of the national anthem by Corinne McDougal rounded out the pre-game hoopla. NMHS won the game 8-0.
The event raised $1,350. A matching gift still to come will bring the total to $2,700.
