The Eric Sloane Museum in Kent will open an exhibit, “Eric Sloane and New England Apples,” July 23 with a reception from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The show, which will run through Aug. 4, will feature works by professional and non-professional artists of all ages who used materials such as apples, apple blossoms, apple trees or apple wood to reflect the theme.

Artwork will be on exhibit at the 31 Kent-Cornwall Road museum.

The show will be judged by the public with gift certificates given in the following categories: professional artist, non-professional artist, under 18 and best in show.

Participants may elect to have their artwork offered for sale with 20 percent of the proceeds to benefit the Friends of the Eric Sloane Museum.

Artwork may be picked up Aug. 5-7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
