The Eric Sloane Museum in Kent will open an exhibit, "Trash Art: Re-use, Re-cycle, Re-Imagine and Re-purpose," with a reception July 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The show, which will run through July 27, will feature art from re-purposed, recycled, discarded or used materials made by local residents.

During the reception, Bob Coppola of the Friends of the Eric Sloane Museum will offer a workshop, "Making Toys from Discarded and Everyday Objects," for children and young adults.

The show may be seen at the 31 Kent-Cornwall Road (Route 7) museum.
