The Eric Sloane Museum and Friends of the Eric Sloane Museum in Kent will hold a special event Aug. 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. to celebrate Sloane's love of the sky.

The interactive event and admission to the museum will be free for the day.

The program will include visits with Mike Cameron, a meteorologist for Channel 3, WFSB, former Boston television reporter Jack Borden and president of For Spacious Skies, and John Pawloski, a retired earth science teacher with more than 35 years of teaching experience.

In addition, craft activities, including making rain gauges, pinwheels, toy kites, and paper airplanes, will be offered.

The museum at 31 Kent-Cornwall Road, Route 7, is open Thursdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
