The Eric Sloane Museum in Kent will celebrate the annual Connecticut Open House Day with a special program June 8.

Joe Buda will share his life-long interest in woodcarving, sculpting and woodworking and display his "Art at Work" placemats and several sculptures made from repurposed materials from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., during which time there will be free admission at the museum.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to help build an "Art at Work" placement using handmade early American implements and tools.

The museum, located at 31 Kent-Cornwall Road (route 7 North), is open Thursdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
