The inaugural Eric Sloane Fall Celebration will be held Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Kent.

The rain or shine event at the Eric Sloane Museum at 31 Kent-Cornwall Road (Route 7 North) is co-sponsored by the museum and Friends of the Eric Sloane Museum.

Early American demonstrators and craftsmen will showcase crafts such as lace making, tinsmithing, blacksmithing, redware pottery, spinning, candle dipping apple cider making and more.

In addition, early American games and hands-on crafts will be offered, and food, baked goods and pumpkins will be available to purchase.

Sweetie-Pie the Brown Swiss calf will attend.

Patrons may view the museum during the event.

The museum is regularly open Thursdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and $5 for children 6 to 17.
