Hickory Stick Bookshop in Washington Depot will present a book signing with Karen Silk Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. and Charles Dubow Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.

In her first book of poetry, "Somewhere a Bird," Ms. Silk explores the relationship between the grief encountered by the loss of a loved one and the joy found in the healing power of nature. Ms. Silk has been a psychotherapist, teacher and business woman. She is currently with Sotheby's International Realty and serves as a director of the Washington Environmental Council and a board member of the Lake Waramaug Task Force.

She was married to the late Hugh P. Silk, headmaster of Wykeham Rise School in Washington.

Mr. Dubow will sign copies of his debut novel, "Indiscretion," Feb. 23.
