The New Fairfield/Sherman Animal Welfare Society will hold a Shred-It and spring clean-up fundraiser May 6 from 9 a.m. to noon in the New Fairfield Stop & Shop parking lot at the intersection of state routes 37 and 39.

Boxed documents will be shredded on site by Shred-It from Cheshire.

Monetary donations to NFSAW are welcome.

NFSAW will also collect clothing, shoes, belts, ties, handbags, backpacks, table cloths, bedding (no mattresses), curtains and other household items.

All donations should either be boxed or in plastic bags.

Furniture will not be accepted.

Adoptable pets from NFSAW’s shelter will be visiting during the fundraiser.

NFSAW, founded in 1977, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year as a non-profit organization that shelters and finds homes for abused, neglected and abandoned cats and dogs.
