The New Milford village center came alive Oct. 12 even more so than usual.

The Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce's sixth annual Harvest Festival, a celebration of the downtown New Milford, attracted hundreds of area residents.

Festivities all afternoon were offered along Bank Street and the south end of the Village Green.

Bank Street was closed to motor vehicle traffic to create a pedestrian zone, showcasing the street's potential should the town decide to do so more often.

Patrons were treated to live music, entertainment and a variety of activities, including train displays at the railroad station.

Stage performances and demonstrations by FineLine Theatre Arts, Phys-Ed Health & Performance and Studio D were featured, as was line dancing with Jill Weiss.

Contributing sponsors included the New Milford Commission on the Arts and the New Milford Economic Development Commission.
