Sherman park & recreation notes
The Sherman Park & Recreation Department offers programs throughout the year.
For registration or more information, call director John Wrenn at 860-354-3629, visit the office at Sherman School during summer hours of Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon, or check www.townofshermanct.org/parkrec.html.
Residents can swim at the New Fairfield High School pool as part of a program in cooperation with New Fairfield Park and Recreation. For signup or information, check www.newfairfield.org and link to departments/park and recreation/special events/family open swim.
All who registered for a slip for the 2011 will receive one. Payment is due in the town clerk's office at town hall. Those who still have boats in the water should remove them.
A trail over the mountain extending from the town park to Colonial Park is open to residents.
Sessions instructed by New Milford High School coach Chris Piel for youths in grades 1-5 and 6-8 meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Sherman School at the cost of $100. For more information, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call Park and Rec.
