The Sherman Park & Recreation Department offers programs through the year.

Skiing at Thunder Ridge
Ginny Fielding is coordinating a ski program at Thunder Ridge in Patterson, N.Y. for youths in grades 1-8. The package offers ski lessons for first-graders and older and snowboarding lessons for third-graders and older at the cost of $115 for six weeks. Signup will be held the first night starting at 4:15 p.m. Discounted lift tickets for skiing are offered at $16 per session and rentals are available at $24 for skis or a snowboard including a helmet. Pre-registration is requested.
An after-school program for schoolchildren in grades K-8 meets weekdays from 2:30 to 6 p.m. during the school year under the supervision of Nicole Pliego. Those interested are welcome to stop by.
Clinics instructed by Sherman School teacher Jim Luchsinger for youths in grades 2-6 meet Saturdays at the Sherman School gym. Second and third-graders play from 9:15 to 10 a.m.; fourth, fifth and sixth-graders play from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Cost for eight weeks is $50. Signup is available at the gym.
Open sessions for residents aged 18 and older are offered Wednesdays, except school vacations and special events, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Sherman School.
