The Sherman Historical Society will hold a holiday open house and its first annual community tree lighting with St. Nick Dec. 2.

The open house, based on a roaring ’20s theme, will run from 1 to 4 p.m. at the historical society, 10 Route 37 Center.

The event will be followed by the tree lighting at 4:30 p.m.

The tree lighting will include cookies, cocoa, caroling and a visit with Santa.

Parking will be available at the library and Sherman School.
