Sherman library hosts virtual Iceland program Feb. 12

SHERMAN — Gerri Griswold, who has visited Iceland 51 times, will give a free virtual presentation called “Iceland Through My Heart,” on Friday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m. This program is part of the Sherman Library’s Travel from Home series offered remotely on Zoom.

Griswold is the director of administration and development at the White Memorial Conservation Center in Litchfield.

Visitors can take a one-hour trip 66 degrees north and be overwhelmed by the landscape, nature, and people of this country, which boasts 100 percent literacy, is home to the first Parliament established in 930 AD, and possesses the cleanest air and water on the planet, the library announcement said.
