Bridget McCarhty, a Roxbury resident and Shepaug Valley High School senior, will kick off the fundraising segment of her senior project with a "Kiss the Pig" event Nov. 20 at 12:30 p.m.

The event, to be held in the cafeteria at SVHS on South Street in Washingotn, will feature a Shepaug teacher kissing a pig in front of an audience of more than 100 students and faculty.

During the two weeks leading up to the event, students will have voted with monetary donations to select a teacher for the event.

The teacher earning the highest donation of funds will be given the "honor" of kissing the pig.

Donations will be used to help finance Bridget's senior project, which will benefit the Roxbury- and Woodbury-based nonprofit therapeutic horseback riding organization, Little Britches.

In coming months, Bridget will organize an indoor field hockey event and a bake sale to raise money for Little Britches.

Her efforts will also focus on attracting new volunteers to Little Britches.
