Shares her gratitude for Ray Crawford’s efforts
To the Editor:
Ray Crawford is an amazing man in all that he does for the appreciation of people’s lives.
I feel honored.
First, for the town of New Milford, Ray designed and donated the Underground Railroad plaque dedicated to the slaves who passed through New Milford en route to Canada for freedom.
The plaque was placed on the grounds of the New Milford Historical Society.
Second, Ray designed and donated a plaque in memory of Officer H. Kenneth Couch, who died in the line of duty June 3, 1964, while attempting a water rescue in the swollen waters of Housatonic River.
The plaque was dedicated in May on the grounds of the New Milford Police Department.
We should live each day with appreciation and gratitude.
The plaques will remind us of these lives.
