To the Editor:

The Paul S. Richmond Center building front has a refreshed look, thanks to the efforts of the United Way’s Day of Action.

We would like to thank Stacy Schulman, corporate relations and special events manager of United Way of Western Connecticut’s Volunteer Center.

Stacy coordinated the volunteer efforts of a very special crew of volunteers from Webster Bank to beautify our front gardens!

What a great crew they were. They weeded, pruned, edged and laid mulch. It was a perfect weather day, and they took full advantage of getting a good day’s work in.

When they arrived with shovels, clippers, I knew we had the right crew to do the hard work that needed to be done.

We’d like to thank our volunteers from Webster Bank: Jenn Birdseye, Patrick Moore, Anthony Santiago, Joyce Kuhn, Sandra Calogero, Sammi Nait-Mansour and Sheila Duarte.

However, the volunteers were going to need mulch. In came Pam and Jeff Stevens, owners of Meadowbrook Gardens of New Milford. Pam and Jeff supplied us with a truck full of mulch.

Our gardens have a fresh new look, transformed by the Webster Bank volunteers, and donations from Meadow Brook Gardens. The beauty takes your breath away.

Our heartfelt thanks to the United Way’s Day of Action, for the coordination and hard work. Just beautiful!
