Coming in the Sunday News-Times
The state's 2010 election may well go down as one of the most important and unique in state history, and the campaign leading up to it will likely earn its dubious mark, at least in some high-profile races, for the plethora of negative and attack ads.
For the first time in recent memory, the state will elect new candidates for several high-ranking offices, including U.S. Senate, governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general.
Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, a Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, and Democratic attorney general candidate George Jepsen of Ridgefield are among those seeking office in Hartford, lending additional interest for area voters.
Voters in Greater Danbury and Greater New Milford will also cast ballots in two of the nation's most competitive Congressional races in the state's 4th and 5th districts.
As a reader service, The News-Times will publish a comprehensive voter guide with sample ballots, polling place information, thumbnail sketches of the candidates, election stories and other helpful information.
The guide will be published Sunday, Oct. 31, exclusively in the print edition of The News-Times.
