Now that the 2010-11 school year has started, how are parochial and other private schools faring in this daunting economy?

Last year, Immaculate High School in Danbury and other tuition-funded schools in the Greater Danbury area endured declining enrollments and fiscal woes as tuition became a luxury some families couldn't afford.

How many parents are keeping their youngsters in private and parochial school this year at all costs? How many are pulling their children out of these schools and sending them to public schools to help make ends meet?
