It was 1948, maybe 1949, when Danbury's Millie Godfrey watched TV for the first time: "It was this little, 6-inch screen. You had to pull the chair right up to it to see it."

Over the decades since then, the Danbury area has sent its share of folks to compete on TV reality shows such as "American Idol," "Jeopardy," "Survivor" and "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" let alone spent countless billions of hours in front of the TV.

As the first TV broadcast marks its 70th anniversary, we talk to local people about America's love affair with the television and how TV has changed their lives.
