Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury will present a program , “A Tour of New York’s Demolished Landmarks,” with Jason Scappaticci Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. via Zoom.
Scappaticci will explain how New York City, in the name of progress, has lost some of its most impressive architecture.
Many skyscrapers and mansions, a train station and several iterations of Madison Square Garden have fallen victim to the wrecking ball because of New York’s love for all things modern.
Scappaticci earned a B.A. in history from Utica College of Syracuse University. After returning home to Connecticut, he enrolled in Trinity College and earned a M.A. in American Studies.
He then began his career in higher education at Manchester Community College, working with low income and first-generation college students.
After 16 years at Manchester Community College, he was named the Associate Dean of Student Affairs at Capital Community College.
