A New Milford youth will star as Belle in "Beauty & the Beast" at Warner Theater in Torrington Aug. 26-27 at 7:30 p.m.

Courtney Savino, who will enter eighth grade at Schaghticoke Middle School later this month, is part of the cast in the theater's Curtain Call Kids production at the theater's Nancy Marine Studio on Main Street.

The teen first started in theater at 7 when she performed in the Nutmeg Conservatory "Nutcracker Ballet" at the Warner, Bushnell and Palace theatres in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Since then, she has performed in many musicals at various theaters, including the Thomaston Opera House and TheatreWorks in New Milford.

Most recently, she was the narrator for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at Blessed Sacrament Children's Theatre in Waterbury.

Courtney also attended the Northern Region Middle School Music Festival at the Har-Bur Middle School in Burlington in 2010 and 2011.
