The 33rd season of Roxbury road races will debut tomorrow (Saturday) at 8:30 a.m. with a 2.4-mile run starting and finishing at Hurlburt Community Park on West Apple Lane.

The series will feature a 40-race calendar with events scheduled every Saturday through Dec. 5 except July 4 and July 25, when the runners will observe the Fourth of July holiday and many will participate in the 42nd annual New Milford 8-mile road race, respectively.

The races start at the Everett Hurlburt Community Park on West Apple Lane. There will be no entry fee for most of the weekly races, which are held Saturdays at 8:30 a.m.

Among the season's highlights will be May 2's Larry Kershnar MidSpring Challenge, July 18's William Burley MidSummer championship race and Nov. 7's Bob Lewis
MidAutumn championship race.

Proceeds from the $5 entry fee for those races will benefit Roxbury's park improvement fund.

The series will also sponsor Nov. 26's ninth annual 3.0-mile Thanksgiving Day Run For A Cure and Dec. 12's sixth annual Roxbury Marathon.
