Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury will hold a communitywide, one-mile walk/2.4-mile run, “Exercise Your Mind/Get Ready, Get Set, Read,” event June 25.

The event, which is co-sponsored by Roxbury Road Race and Roxbury Recreation Commission, will be held at Hurlbut Park on Apple Lane at 8:30 a.m.

In addition to the walk/run, children and adults can sign up for the library’s summer reading program, and a bounce house and refreshments will be offered

For the reading program, adults will write reviews of the books they have read to be entered to win a FitBit Charge HR or a gift card, while children will have opportunities for prizes and rewards based on their reading.

Festivities at Hurlbut Park will continue at 10 a.m. with a juggling performance and workshop by magician Harrison Kramer, a professional entertainer and instructor who specializes in magic and juggling for children and young adults.

The next programs in the series will be “Hiking Out,” a lecture presented by Dick Sederquist, June 30 at 7 p.m. about how he used hiking to overcome life-long depression, and “Physics Magic”, a children’s program July 2 at 11:30 a.m., both at the South Street library.
