A two-car crash on Route 37 Tuesday morning sent one of the drivers to New Milford Hospital, police said.

The accident occurred at 9:19 a.m. just east of Meadow Wood Drive when Julia Krier of Sherman lost control of her eastbound Subaru on a curve and crashed into a westbound Pontiac driven by Joanne Woodward of New Milford, police said.

After the impact, the Pontiac crossed the eastbound lane and struck a utility pole.

The road was closed briefly after the accident.

Woodward was taken to the hospital with what police called `non-life-threatening injuries" and her car was towed.

Police said the Krier was able to drive away.

Police attributed the accident to slippery road conditions.
