On the 207th anniversary of the town's incorporation, the Sherman Historical Society celebrated the dedication of its reconstructed Roger Sherman Cobbler Shop, housed behind the Northrop House on Historical Society property.

Oct. 4's townwide celebration featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, speeches, patriotic music, colonial-era games and the introduction of the winners of Sherman School's Roger Sherman contest.

In addition, the Naromi Land Trust served up food and beverages, while some residents brought picnic lunches. Nearly 400 people attended the event.
