Robotics group sets programs

Robotics and Beyond in New Milford has announced its upcoming programs.
Minecraft game nights will be offered Friday, May 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. for ages 7-12, June 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. for ages 12-17 and June 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. for ages 7-12. The cost is $30.
An open house will take place May 27 and June 3 and 10 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Minecraft making with MCreator will be offered June 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. for ages 8-15. The fee is $30.
Open studio time and workshops will be offered Tuesday and Wednesday, May 20 and 21, May 27 and June 3 from 2:30 to 6 p.m.
A two-hour minimum per workshop is requested. The fee is $14 per hour.
An introduction to Java programming series for ages 10-17 will be offered June 7, 14 and 21 from 1 to 3 p.m.
The fee is $80.
Summer camp for children ages 5-8 and 8-18 will also be offered.
Camp for ages 8-18 will be July 7-11, July 14-18, July 21-25 and July 27-Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at New Milford High School on Route 7 South.
Activities will include building and programming Lego NXT and EV3, Tetrix and Vex robots; programming in C++, Basic, NXT, Python, Java and other languages; exploration in electronics and circuit boards; experimenting with electronic equipment; working with remote environmental sensors and data analysis; exploration of graphic design and animation software and Robo-Wars.
The cost is $320 per week.
A junior camp for ages 5-8 will take place July 14-18, July 21-25 and July 27-Aug. 1 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 to 3 p.m.
The camp will offer a gentle introduction to the concepts of robotics and computer science.
Offerings will include science, technology, engineering and math group activities that teach concepts such as problem solving, center of gravity and fractals; art and design projects, such as origami and SunArt pictures; and free play with Snap Circuits, Legos, Spirograph and more.
Children may attend one week of camp or more.
The cost is $150 per week.
All offerings will be at RAB's studio space at 30 Bridge St., Suite 204, except the summer camp, which will be at New Milford High School.
