The Washington Art Association will open a program of lectures, art and ecology, "Rivers Alive," Sept. 14.

The event, which will run through Oct. 20, will feature works by Leila Daw, Wopo Holup, Isabella Jacob, Tim Prentice and others.

In addition, Klaus Jacob, scientist and professor at Columbia University, and Wopo Holup, award-winning and noted artist, will lead a panel on the intersection of land and water, art and science.

The gallery in Bryan Plaza is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
