Ridgefield Holiday Stroll returns

The 10th annual downtown Ridgefield Holiday Stroll is set for Friday and Saturday on Main Street. There will be free family activities, from horse-drawn carriage rides to ice sculpture contests and holiday treats.

The event kicks off Friday with a parade, which will go from Georgetown Auto Body at 27 Catoonah St. to the Ridgefield Community Center. Horse-drawn carriage rides will go to and from the Community Center. (Santa and Mrs. Claus will ride, too.) Davey the Clown will perform for children and there will be in-store raffles, holiday promotions and refreshments, not to mention dancing performances and caroling.

Meanwhile, a six-home Holiday House Tour will benefit Tiger Hollow, a privately funded sports complex at Ridgefield High School.

Saturday presents an opportunity to have your photo taken with Santa at Town Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ridgefield Holiday Stroll is 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. 203-431-7402. Holiday House Tour is 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. $30 before tour, $35 at the Community Center on the day. Tickets at Squash's, 389 Main St., and Bella Home, 90 Danbury Road, both in Ridgefield.
