Richard M. Malumphy, 85, of New Milford, died Jan. 18 at his home. He was the widower of Delores Granja Malumphy.

Mr. Malumphy was born June 11, 1927, in Richmond, Mass., son of the late John and Sarah Dorsey Malumphy.

He was an operating engineer at Peckham Industries for 22 years.

A resident of New Milford since 1954, having moved from Southbury, he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Odd Fellows Lodge, Moose Lodge and the German Club.

Mr. Malumphy is survived by two sons, Roger Malumphy and David Malumphy, both of New Milford; a daughter, Karen Malumphy, of California; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, Maurice, Frank and Daniel.

Friends may call today (Friday) from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in Danbury.
